Boxster Roof Transport System (RTS)

Hi All,

I have a Boxster Roof Transport System (RTS) available. It is in very nice condition and comes with all parts, tools, keys, etc. This is currently on a 1997 MY. It also comes with 2 Porsche Bike rack modules.

If you are not familiar with these, Pelican Parts webite has an article that shows how to mount them:
www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/box_roof_transport/box_roof_transport_page1.htm.

(The Bike rack modules are different from the one they show.)

List price on all of this was ~ $800. I will let it go for $400 plus cost of shipping.

I thought that I would give the forum members the first crack at this item. If no interest here, I will put it up on eBay. If there is interest, I can take some pictures.

Thanks,
Mark

I may be interested... can you take some photos? Would you be willing to sell without the Porsche bike attachments?

Thanks

I'll post some pictures in a few days. The bike attachments wouldn't be very useful to me without the rack. But, maybe. Perhaps, someone else here on the forum already has a rack and needs bike attachments?

RTS Key?

Hey Mark! I am trying hard to locate an RTS key for my system. See post in General Discussion:
Howdy! I have an RTS that came with my Boxster along with two bike racks. The RTS itself has four locks that secure the cross-bars. Unfortunately, the prior owner could not find the keys. I have keys for the bike racks, and they slide in to the RTS locks, but they don't turn. I suspect they are the same type of key (likely Thule).

I tried two different Porsche shops, and they both told me that there is no listing for the key. I am wondering if anyone out there has a key that they could photograph for me and if there is a part number on it, provide it to me. Or, if there is a kind enough soul out there with a spare key, consider sending it to me to try (I would return it, honest!). If it works, I would copy it.

Any help anyone could offer would be great. It is not the end of the world as it is assembled as one unit that I can lift on and off with two people, but it would be nice to be able to disassemble the rack for storage, and to remove the bike trays and add a box if I so desired. Thanks in advance for your help!

Jeff
Any chance you may be able to lend a hand? Do you happen to have a spare key I could try? I would send it back to you ASAP (if it works, I would copy it), and could send you a pre-paid mailer. No pressure though - I see you would like to sell yours. Thanks! Jeff

I'm sorry it took so long for me to get pictures. But, here they are:

I'm asking $400 (+ S&H) for all of it. I can sell the RTS without the two Bike racks for $300 (+ S&H).

Hi Mark,
I live in Palo Alto. I will get the RTS with the bike racks if you still have it.
Cheers

Boxster Roof Transport System (RTS)

Hi All,

I am selling my RTS if any one is interested. I will let it go for 400 + shipping. I'll include my attachments: bike, skis, surfboard. I got it when I purchased my 99 boxster. It is in good condition and comes with all the keys and tools. I have a printed copy of the install instructions as well.

Thx,
Thomas
