FS: 1997-2000 OBC Hack Harness

I accidently built the pre-2001 harness, the molex pins are different for the 2001-up gauge cluster. Unfortunately the guide I was using didn't mention that.

I'd be happy to sell it for my cost ($29). I don't like butt connectors, so I used solder and self sealing heat-shrink tubing instead. I used a label maker to number the wires, and a few zip ties to hold it together. Photo attached. I'll ship to lower 48 free.

Could you point me to the instructions for building such a harness if you have already sold the one you built?

Otherwise, I'd like to be next in line for purchasing it if your earlier offer falls through.

Regards, Maurice.

You should make up a dozen of these and sell them to forum members. You could probably tack on an extra $20 a unit just to save guys like me the time and energy of buying all the parts.

Garage
Not a bad idea. I'd pay that 20 dollars on top if he ships it to me for free

The guide I was following:

OBC Hack PDF

Note, the parts list on the guide is for pre-2001 cars.

I think the connector/cover info is also old - Jeff @ Sunset sent me: 999-650-513-40 (about $4)

I am going to look into buying the molex pins bulk - I ought to be able to build it for less and without splicing if I can buy the connectors by themselves.

Stay tuned.
