Seriously, I thought this only worked in old cars that used generators instead of alternators.
It should work in any car that is a manual. I did it in the Boxster once with no ill effects that I know of. I always think of it as an advantage of having a manual but never heard that it can hurt something.

When people risk their lives, shouldn't it be for something very important?
Well, it better be.
But what is so important about driving faster than anyone else?
Lots of people go through life doing things badly. Racing's important to men who do it well.
When you're racing, it's life. Anything that happens before or after is just waiting.
