Yup, that was the announced logical step. But they also announced, that the 911 will keep its iconic flat 6 Boxer engine as long as it will be legal in the major markets. So no worries for the 911.
And honestly...if I had to choose between a 4 cylinder Boxer and an e-motor...I would pick the e-motor.
