Meir's method is the "Purest" method IMHO. For my 2003, I chose the shortcut method which just requires removal of the radio, HVAC and horsehoe and switches, although you do have to cut a piece of the plastic ductwork for the center vents and then tape it back together. It is documented by 78F350 on page 2 of this thread on the forum and in this YouTube video by TTGator.
Even on a 2003, the plastic interior trim is still 18 years old, and some of it may break taking it apart, so the less you have to mess with, the better. Plus you have to open up the cooling and A/C systems in the Meir method. So I'm throwing this out there in case you weren't aware of it and wanted an easier way. But if you're up for the full Meir method, I understand.
