You got the engine running, safe to eliminate the DME for the moment.

From the symptoms, it sounds like you have a vacuum leak and/or everything isn't hooked up correctly or not connected. Happens to the best of us when replacing or dropping an engine. Go over every connector/sensor, vacuum line, etc.
