If I disconnect the immobilizer on my 1999 Boxster and put it in a water proof housing, when I reconnect it will it have to be reprogrammed? 2. Along the same lines if I disconnect my battery for a couple of days while I install a new audio system will it lose the programing. I have just had my immobilizer replace 2 times in 3 monthes due to water in cabin, luckily insurance covered it both times. It made sense to me that both of those times it needed to be programed because they were new but I just can't find info on my above situations.

Thanks All
The answer to your question is no. You will not have to re program the immobilizer.
