He said he bought the car from an auction and has had it for 5 years, putting 16,000 miles on it. He only has one key, no windscreen, and the tires that came with it. He has also never heard of an IMS bearing. I figure I'd have to drive it straight to my local Porsche expert and get the following:

IMS bearing
New clutch
Replace the rear main seal
Four new tires.

Then, I'd want to do the following:

Add the wind deflector
Replace the missing cruise control cap
Add a magnetic drain plug
Replace the dented spoiler cap
Replace both drop-down window switches
Order a new owner's manual (if possible)
Program a new key

I calculated all those to add up to about $5,500 - $6,800, assuming nothing else was discovered during a PPI.

I'm also hesitant to buy from someone who owned it for 5 years and didn't know they had a rear spoiler that extends at high speeds (I showed him how to put it up).
This does not sound like a 12k car. I'd expect A LOT of records from a caring owner for that price. Locally, this would be a $9-10k car at best.
