I put the tool on the pulley and then a short piece of 2x4 propped against the edge of the engine compartment. Car in neutral. Put on the socket and rotated the crank until the tool handle was firmly on the 2x4 which was on the engine compartment edge. Marked the bolt with a sharpie and then did the extra 90 degrees. Holding the tool to counterhold might work if you got a helper and slid a jack handle or something over it to give leverage.
