Sell your car and buy a Boxster S. Swapping is a money losing exercise.
1998 Boxster base in decent shape should bring $6,000-ish. A 2000 Boxster S can be had for $8,500 all day. A Boxster S engine is going to run you $5,000. Plus, while you're at it you will want to replace the intermediate shaft bearing, rear main seal, clutch disk - at a minimum.
Then, you will still have the regular Boxster brakes and not the bigger S/911 brakes, and the other 'S' specific parts.
Good luck!

I am considering this because of the decreasing availability of 2.5l parts.
Thinking about a complete engine and trans swap to a 3.2l with 6 speed .
Also the car itself is in great shape. Wanting to also get a bit more performance from it.
Thanks,'
