Personally, I would recommend leaving the console out. On the SE, your serial number plate will be installed on the back carpeted piece. You'd have a hard time doing that later.
I did the console delete for more room, not for looks. But now I realize how much improved the car looks without that fat console in the middle. My opinion, of course!
