I did a search and see scattered costs on a clutch and IMS replacement. I am trying to figure out what is a fair price.

My 04 Boxster S is at 103K still on the original clutch and IMS. Throwout bearing started making noise 2 weeks ago and I figured its time to replace the clutch and do the IMS as well.

Needless to say I called a reputable indy shop and they wanted pretty close to 6k for the work. I am going to call around and shop this a but not looking for the lowest price just something within reason vs me doing it myself.

Is 6k fair or is that way to high? Any input on a good indy shop in the Nassau County area of NY would be helpful as well.
