Yes,I have pressed in new bearings into the pulleys. But it is a dubiously 'smart' idea. I have a 20t press. I managed to crack one pulley ! I only noticed the hairline crack when I cleaned the pulley before fitting it.
If you do press out the old bearing -soak it in penetrating fluid for days before using any force on it .When it eventually moves, press it back and forth and reapply the penetrant. It is tempting to just heave on the brutal 20 t press. Support the pulley perfectly or you will bend it.
Freeze the replacement bearing and the press die before you insert it.
The complete pullies are so cheap from Rock Auto ,it isn't worth it imho.
So Meir , when will you get a replacement Boxster?
