Just because the oil feed is stopped,it does not mean that oil in the bearing instantly disappears. A residual film will be retained for a while.(define 'while'?).Surface tension.
The bearing is coated ? PC3 or similar?
Pedro's Technofix DOF has an uncoated bearing.
