There are glue-pull techniques I know some PDR guys can do, which might be applicable in your situation. Haven't seen it myself or really understand it, but they took out a ding in my door next to the pinch weld with it - (where I believe the back side was inaccessible.)

Agreed. Results come down to the skill of whoever is doing the work. I've had a number of dings puled including one at the edge of the fender and wheel well and I'm completely happy that I can't see any evidence of prior damage.
