These are nothing but expensive toys.
If Porsche/Tesla/etc really wanted to change the world, they would offer a 3-series sedan with 350 miles of range with a 5 min full recharge that sells for $40K. Until that happens, e-cars are curiosities, not real transportation.

solution is simple: Tesla should offer free car rentals for the next 10 years for anyone that needs to drive over 200 miles in a day but they MUST drive over 200 miles in a day and there would be limits, like no more than 10 rental days a year, etc (that's less than 1 day a month).
99.9% of buyers would never use that more than one day a year but 99.9% of buyers would feel a lot better about spending $80,000 on a car with a 200 range.
