The best advice I could give you was what was given to me by a Porsche dealer. If you get the smaller motor you should get the manual. If you get the bigger motor then you can live with either. This was based on making the most of the limited power of the 2.7. Hope this helps.

Not sure what you mean by limited power. The 2.7 has tons of power - far more than most other cars on the road. And the Tip is a solid transmission and the manual mode gives it that extra boost.
Seriously, drive both cars and go with the one you prefer. A good PPI should help settle any mechanical challenges.
