Tony, I gave you the simple answer. There is so many detergent in diesel oils that you would have to double the level of wear additive to make them as effective as the oils that are recommended. Detergents are indescrininent about what films they remove including that thin layer of ZN and ZDDP that is protecting the aluminum bearing surfaces for your cam shafts, lifter carriers, and cylinders.
