When I first moved from Wisconsin to Texas, we had a dusting of snow in the DFW area that equaled maybe an inch overnight. I got up in the morning, jumped in my truck and headed off to work. The roads were empty and I wondered to myself, "is it Saturday or something?" When I got to work, no one was there. Could not believe it! Fast forward 16 years and I get it, they do not have the equipment to handle snow and especially ice. Easier and cheaper just to shut the place down rather than staff/equip for an occasional snow or ice storm.
