I wonder - I used some steel about 1.5" long to lower the mounting bracket as it seemed high to me. I did not want to tilt it down with spacers. Wonder if the slightly less support from bracket contributes to drone?

I also installed the top speed cat back mufflers on my 01 S and got the drone.
The solution was to get the 2nd cat delete pipes from Top Speed and no more drone and awesome sound.
You will very happy if you do this and its an easier job than the mufflers.
