The caliper pistons are aluminum with a thin coating on them that seems to be easily damaged. If your dust boots are in bad shape, the piston finish may have been damaged. If so, you may need pistons in addition to the sealing rings. This is what I found on my 987 after a few years of track events and not changing the dust boots (doh!).

I was able to get all the parts at ********************************************************************. They were brembo parts kits with porsche 951 series part numbers on them. They matched exactly with the original 987 parts. They don't specifically spec the 986 parts, but it would be worth giving them a call.
