Folks have been building devices like this for years with Arduino's.

You can create virtually any kind of functionality with it.

Add any kind of sensor device available, GPS, accelerometer, gyro, temp, pressure, light, sonar, Blue Tooth, WiFi, strain gauages etc.

You could duplicate that devices functionality in a couple hours for under $50

Wonder what the Twine costs?

I have been thinking of an Arduino data logger taking data off the OBDII port for tuning and reviewing track performance.
