nope, less draw on the system = less parasitic drag from the alternator.

soooo to geek out:

Watts/745.7 (one HP) = Electrical output in HP
HP x 10% Efficiency Loss (guessing here) = HP Loss
HP + Efficiency Loss = Total HP used

so lets figure ~160 watts for the lighter

160 / 745.7 =.215
.215 X .10 = .0215
.215 + .0215 = .236hp

That blasted lighter is costing you nearly a quarter of a hp when your girl fires up a Marlboro!
