Personally i think the gain is good from a NA engine. The gain could be more with further set up such as ipd plenum, 74mm throttle body, ecu tune, headers bypass cat, short shifter and lightweight flywheel, no?

The cams are already fairly aggressive since the 3.4 I have makes its peak power at around 6600 rpm
I have installed cams in other engines, and I really do enjoy the lumpy idle. They are generally good for about a 12-15 peak hp increase, and something like 20+ where the power usually falls off. Especially with good headers and a free flowing intake.
My issue is $$$. Spending almost $3000 on cams is a bit too much for me. That, and considering a proper full exhaust is about $4000, and with the other mods youre considering brings you up to about $10000 easily. Even more if youre paying someone to do the work for you.
Considering that its a relatively low increase in power vs $$$, id pull the engine down, lower the compression, and turbo it. Almost the same money, but you'll add about 150hp.
Most of us turbo guys know this already, but NA sucks.
But if you really are dead set on going NA, and money is no object, these engines really do have an excellent foundation for a high hp NA motor....
