To my mind, the two mods that make a car a lot less driveable on the street are cams and aluminum flywheels. When you consider how much power you can make with intake and exhaust on these factory-strangled cars without ruining the driveability, I don't see why anybody would bother to mess with the cams, unless it was exclusively a track car.
But then, I'm old, and I've already done the cams and light flywheel on other cars. :-)
