I have been a member since 1988 and have found it to be very helpful and fun. I personally have been organizing events for our Hudson Valley Region for awhile now and have been getting great satisfaction from it. Why not join and see what is going on? Maybe you can organize some events yourself. Since our region did not have a lot of things going on that I enjoyed I decided to produce them myself and it has been a lot of fun. You can always cancel your membership if it doesn't do anything for you so I suggest "have a go" at it as our Brit brethren would say.
