+1 on going to an independent Porsche specialist rather than a dealer for your '99.

Blue2000S has already pointed it out, but it bears repeating: if you don't prevent water from reaching the immobiliser under the driver's seat, it will fry it and you are looking at a repair of $1K to $2K and all sorts of electrical glitches until you get it fixed, not the least of which will be getting stranded.

Your airbag light can only be reset with a PST2, PIWIS or Durametric.

If you intend on keeping the car long term and maybe doing some of the work yourself, you should invest in a Bentley Manual for your Boxster. Available on Amazon and other places.
