is there an actual problem with your IMS?

there are retrofit kits available from LN engineering. they are much better than stock & can be installed with the engine in the car.

that having been said, the kits are quite expensive, and the labor involves removing the transmission, clutch & flywheel. $2,000 for the job sounds fair.

i would combine this with a clutch & rear main seal, since all require removal of the transmission.
