I know this is very late, but just to continue what Grizzly already started. vBulletin aka
vB (the forum software) has some easy to use quick codes for you to insert extras such as images, code, links, quotes, right above this message box. If you want to insert an image you can use the icon that looks like a mountain with the yellow background. You can also type out the img code

[img]link to your image[/img]
or you can simply copy and paste the link like Grizzly suggested. Also the way the forum layout is setup by default is how most of the popular forum software's such as
vB, ipb (renntech.org), phpbb are designed. I'm used to this setup, and feel other layouts feel awkward.
My only suggestion would be to add the multiple quote option, so we could easily quote more then 1 person's reply within your reply.
