My Autocross fun

Well today was the last autocross event of the year. The conditions were less than perfect. Ok, let's just say that it was extremely stormy out.

Here's a short video of what happens when your car lifts off the ground and floats on top of the track full of water.

Enjoy my wife's comments. They're classic. I had a little trouble getting back on the track at the end.

Yup, thats the fun or rear wheel drive. Let me guess, a hydroplane and you didnt let off the gas. Don't worry, id probably have done the same, it takes lots of practice to just let off the gas when your in a spin.

David, good thing you skidded right and not left! The wall looks pretty close to the track, not to mention that guy running for cover. Your wife sounded pretty calm, actually!

I was getting off the gas as I was preparing for a tight turn. I worked that station and saw so many others do the same thing. Since the site is an old airport runway, they painted big yellow X's to let planes know not to land there. Right where I starting to spin is where that X was. That was the 2nd spin I had in the same location. I was actually going slower that time than I did the previous run when I spun out.

The wall is not really close at all. My wife was really far away by our trailer and had the camera zoomed in all the way. There are no walls or barriers anywhere on the coarse.

My wife doesn't get too stressed when I'm out there. She knows that the only thing to really worry about on a course like that is damage to the car. She knows that can be fixed.

you can always count on the wife for quality narration. Nice spin though!

From her comments, she made it sound like I meant to do that.

That's an awesome quote. If I were you David, I'd make that my ringtone on my phone or something.
