I picked it up with 3,300 on the clockin December and I have now 8,100. I use it as a daily driver and the pleasure of going to work even stuck in the nightmarish Belt Pkwy or Cross Bronx Distressway fade away when I hear the engine purrs. God if I would have known I would have preferred no radio and just listen to the engine.
I been racking my brains thinking of what to update in the car and so forth but it really boils down to the fact that this car is such a joy and blast to drive that the results of spending thousands of dollars would be minimal. I read an magazine article that said that the Boxster is "freakishly fast when in its power range past 4k rpm it launches off like a F-14 off a carrier. I agree with that statement and to go from freakishly fast to Rediculous Speed as in Space Balls just does not makes any sense to me anymore. In NY City how fast can I go before I have the federales all over me. Sure I would love to have more horses but think that the top speed of the Carrera is 177 and ours is 164. Top speed delta of 13mph equates to about 20,000-25000 additional cost. That is a lot money for 13 miles an hour which 99% of us will never reach the top speed of our car.
Having said all of that I think that I will be looking for the Navigation radio that Pioneer is going to selling in May. The model is AVIC-N1. Check it out. Looks like a nice gadget for the toy. The rest of the package I don't think I am tinkering with maybe.......
