New Stuff, lol

New stuff. Brakes and E-cutout valves. Still have to wait for the side skirts, uhg, still have to wait for the bumper, uhg, still have to wait for the bumperettes, uhg, and I still have to wait for the diffusers to be re-re-painted. More posts when I get the stuff.

New LEDs. Look awesome. Still working on the LCD display for the climate controll. The LEDs are working, just dim for some reason. I will post when I get it fixed.

funster 01-05-2007 01:28 PM

Your car looks great!

boggtown 01-05-2007 06:26 PM

Put the bumperettes and the diffusers on. Horrible pictures but heres a general idea. I will take more later. My bumper won't be done untill Monday, sadly I will be back at college Sunday so I will have to wait untill I come home again to put it on. Sideskirts will be shipped the 16th so I estimate they will be painted by February  .

djomlas 01-05-2007 10:28 PM

that thing is coming out real nice man

Allen K. Littlefield 01-06-2007 06:16 AM

Nice rims

Jonathan, nice rims, they are a relief from the norm. Did you use chromed or polished wheel bolts. I think they really finish off the wheels. keep us posted.

When it turns a little messier I will have my bumperettes off to be color matched but I suppose I could drive it with them off for a short period of time like you are doing. Party on.

boggtown 01-06-2007 08:35 AM

Thanks, They are chrome. I just went to a tire place and said order me some wheel bolts 45mm and 52mm. I paid $70 for for all 20. I was suprised when they came and were chrome, but it looks a million times better than the stock bolts I had on. Seriously, I didnt even take a pic with them on it was so bad.

Look at the last however many pictures. I got my bumper today and there are some pics of my diffusers and bumperettes. Enjoy! (And don't steal! You know who you are, taking advantage of James like that... Shame shame.)

C5150 01-12-2007 09:02 PM

Hey Bogg,

Love the pics - keep 'em comin'. Can't wait to see the bumper and skirts all in one package.

I got your back if the little boys playing big business copy your pics!

Its on. All I have to do is get my sideskirts and get them painted. They should ship tomorrow but we will see about that. The cost of painting the bumper, bumperettes, and diffusers was $420. Most of that was due to the bumper being in such bad condition and them having to hand strip it and fill in everything. Thanks for all the feedback guys

boggtown 01-26-2007 04:31 PM

Well, after monthes of waiting, I got the sideskirts. But they are the wrong ones. So I asked for a refund and Im just gonna save up a little more money and buy OEM ones. Just a bunch of crap. And the saga continues...

boggtown 01-26-2007 10:10 PM

What do you guys think of these skirts http://www.porscheshop.co.uk/acatalog/porsche_boxster_body_styling.html
The side sills evo ones. Im unsure whether they will look awesome, or totaly lame. They look like the gemballa ones, but smaller... throw out some other suggestions.

I think those would look funny from the rear, as much as they bulge out. And are the vents funtional? If it's non-functional, then I instantly say nay. Also, I'm a fan of the "subtle" look, and these don't seem all that discrete. To get the full effect of these skirts, I think it'd be nice to see a full car side shot.

boggtown 02-07-2007 04:08 PM

UPDATE:

New headlights in. Look good. Still need to buy fancy bulbs and melt the orange box out of the headlight.
Sideskirts, the guy was only gonna offer me an 85% refund so I said fine, send me the sideskirts. I havent gotten them yet.

I am CJs bottled up emotion of evny & jealousy. They look really nice, Personally i would leave in the yellow plastic cause it gives it some style accent or atleast if you decide to cut it out, leave in a orange bulb so theres still a hit of accent when you look at the front end of the car. Dont wanna go too uniform with a solid plain look on the frontend.

boggtown 02-20-2007 05:35 PM

Here are some pics with it waxed. Side skirts are being painted tomorrow or have already been painted and I will put them on this weekend. I hate how it looks like there is a rip in time and space in my driver door, lol. There really isnt anything messed up with it.

mans thats REALLY NICE :)

djomlas 02-20-2007 08:52 PM

looks very nice man, i like it. maybe u should go with the 550 style tail lights?

blinkwatt 02-20-2007 09:03 PM

Just leave the amber in the headlights. Too much can go wrong for the cost of removing a small bit of orange. To be honest the car kicks a55 as is,I wouldn't touch after you add the side skirts.

C5150 02-20-2007 09:32 PM

Damn Bogg - lights look just as hot as I thought they would...! Were they in good shape?

I'm kinda with DJ - think the 550's would be smokin' on your ride!

The side skirts look pretty good, but that front bumper looks great to me. If I ever wind up replacing mine, I think I will have to pick up that one.

boggtown 02-21-2007 07:18 AM

I agree with the 550 lights, Ive mentioned for a long time now that I wanted them, I just have other things id rather have first, lol. The clear headlights came in good shape, there are some scratches on them but I havent gotten around to polishing them yet. Its not too bad, but it needs to be fixed none the less. And I am done with the exterior after the skirts, the only thing I have been eyeing is the aerokit II wing, which im not saving up any money for, so we will see. Im saving up for the GT3 seats though...
Its been a long journey though...

Well from the looks of your ride - the journey was well worth it. Can't wait to see the skirts on her!

986Roadster 02-21-2007 12:36 PM

sweeeet, can't wait to see it with the side skirts.

yow do not buy the fancy lights....i made the mistake of buying blue/white blubs, and my lights on the inside are burnt. i've had the blubs in for about 2 years now, and at the end of the summer i noticed a yelllow tint on the inside. actually last night i went to buy some fancy blubs again...i figure fuc they're burnt anyways. if you look closely, the inside is actually melted. so try and stay close to stock watts.

boggtown 03-02-2007 11:19 AM

I got my sideskirts put on tuesday. I will take some pictures this weekend. They look pretty good, pretty subtle.

boggtown 03-02-2007 02:51 PM

I hardwired my V1 this afternoon. Took me all of 20 minutes without any hand tools except a tiny screwdriver which I only used to push the cord into the dash. I used this website http://gallery.rennlist.com/gallery/albur30 and it helped a lot, untill I tested my V1 and realized he mixed up his wires (or 996's are different) because for me the black and green wire was switched power. Its super easy to find the plug too, mine was tucked under the center console but I saw a tiny bundle of wires and pulled on it untill the plug popped up. I recomend it! My V1 is right beside the rear view mirror like that guys in the picture, but a little lower (level with the rear view mirror).

CJ_Boxster 03-02-2007 04:45 PM

I dont know... mounting it up there for all to see, might not sit well with the local PD since they can see it clear as day.

boggtown 03-02-2007 06:48 PM

I dont know, its pretty well hidden. Besides, there not illegal...

boggtown 03-24-2007 01:16 PM

Here are some pics, the good and the bad, lol. The cars dirty btw.
I added my V1, debadged, clear sidemarkers, sideskirts, shift knob, and new front emblem.

Hey Bogg,

Nice pics!

BTW, is your new emblem ROUND??

bmussatti 03-24-2007 01:25 PM

Bog, looks good. Side skirts look really nice...very subtle. I like the de-badging on the rear trunk lid. Very clean look and adds a bit of mystery.

Why is the front hood emblem round? What is that?

unklekraker 03-24-2007 02:19 PM

bogg...i have to say......you're car is awesome looking :D

I love the de-badged trunk and the round emblem...like what everyone said...where did you get it?

boggtown 03-24-2007 03:54 PM

Its a vintage Gemballa.

ROMES 03-24-2007 11:15 PM

nice ride- quick question when you removed the "boxster" off the back was there any paint difference from the rest being exposed to the sun? if so howd ya fix it?

boggtown 03-24-2007 11:25 PM

No, I think my car was garaged everyday and none of the paint is faded in the least. When I had the GT3 bumper on it matched perfectly, and that was shot with straight black.

ROMES 03-24-2007 11:30 PM

ahh lucky you~! whered ya find the mesh inserts for your grill?

Lol(2months later...my car is a replica of yours haha)

bmussatti 03-25-2007 04:59 AM

Boggtown, your car looks great. But, I like the Porsche crest better on the front trunk, IMHO. Sorry.

boggtown 03-25-2007 07:35 AM

Ya, I totaly agree with you there. Its more of a setting it apart and being unique than a shear masterpiece, lol. I can always put the emblem back on if I want. I think it looks pretty slick and only diehard Porsche fans will notice, so I like that aspect as well.
