Just picked it up

Just figured I throw a few pics of my latest member of my Porsche family. I flew down to Dallas this weekend and drove her back to DC over the weekend.

It is a 1996 993. It had 28000 miles on it when I picked it up. 19" Gemballa wheels and runs perfectly. Quite a beauty and the pics don't do it justice.

Very nice. I do think, however, it would look better in MY garage.....

Very nice looking car!! It was just a year ago Labor Day I made the trip to Fortworth and bought my 2000 S. What a long drive home! I thought my face would never regain it's original shape after 1200 miles of permagrin. Enjoy your new toy.

The way a 911 should look! Love the bi-plane wing.

Super nice... just curious what you think about the performance vs. the Boxster S.

Best of luck!

I can only really compare it to a 05 987 and a 03 986 s because those are the only other 2 boxsters I have had in my stable. The 993 feels like a heavier car, but nimble. Though it pretty much handles the same. There is a lot of grip back there. The engine roar is definatley more "throatier" in the 993, different exhaust and engine. I feel like the Boxsters have way more "driving technology" in it then the 993. The Boxster is easier to drive and you feel like you have the "force" in it. You can do no wrong, push a boxster to the limit and get out of any situation. The 993 feels like it is just you, an engine, gas and tires and hold on for dear life. It's badass and doesn't give a crap :troll: , it will bite you in the ass at anytime, I kind of like that. The Boxster is finesse and pure. I do love both but I have always wanted this 993 since I saw the first one back in 94. Hey when an op like this knocked, I grabbed it by both ears and didn't let go!

Takin a break at Sonic

El Hijacko uno Posto!

And I'd like to award Sonic as the most diverse in food choices (not origins) for a fast food joint. It's up there with Jack in the Box...

Burgers
Breakfast Toasters
Frito Pie!
Cheese Sticks
Burritos (well, they're like burritos)
(I even knew a Sonic that had those deep fried tacos like at J I T B & BK)
Strawberry Lime-ades!

However, with the exception of Slushes, their frozen treats are less than appetizing.

A lot of folks up north don't have Sonics.

But yeah, nice 993.

That's quite a claim.

Combining toasted sour dough bread, slathered in butter, with the traditional elements of both burger and breakfast sandwich is pretty much pure genius. Pure unadulterated evil, yet still genius, which must be both respected and appreciated, and maybe even a little bit feared.
