Hmmm is right. If you have it already...lets see what you can do with it. You know I am always interested in someone else's creativity. It looks heavy though...my grill was only 2 pounds in the end and I still used
2-component glue 3M professional tape 2 gigantic screws to secure it. |

lol...i forgot to update the photos of my racing pedals. They fit pretty well, heel&toe is way more comfortable now, and yes … 1 screw is missing because of a design flaw
http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1550957777.jpg I just love 'em... |
What does the "S" button do? (Center console bottom left)

I recently received the booklet for the new 911 from my P-dealership. They were cross referencing the classic 911 interior styles and showing wooden interior examples…without words

tinker season is starting soon, so that is the plan, kinda :D....uhm...probably not.
There are some laws and regulations concerning the position of rear car reflectors...they need to high and close to the edge. So...this plan and color is obsolete....nvm, lol. ... |
in the meantime...installed a battery kill switch

Left Top liner hook...finally in place again. Here a photo of the right one's location. You have to uninstall the side cover trim first to have better access to it, Top closed. A stick and patience is the key to success.

Finishing a lot of put aside little jobs atm, … from fixing dome lights to strategic cable management for door speaker plus16.5cm upgrades, etc...i stumbled over another forgotten project...ambient lights without those nasty pheeping converters. I think that might work with my interior upgrade project "cocoa".http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1554917321.jpg
4 seperate LEDs with fiberglas cables, endless color Combos, brightness adjustable and the LEDs don't get too hot. That fiberglas can be tugged in pretty good, so it will be more like a indirect ambient light, instead of a glowing cable, which is right in your eyes. |

To deal with the high frequency whine, I encased the converter in about 1.5" of high density foam. You can't hear a thing. ;) http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1555036804.jpg |

http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1555090705.jpg I'll give it a try :D |
atm, this is the idea for the "must-have" reflectors...there ain't no talking back to the Polizei.

Yeah, I understand you completely. Since 2018 I go along JB's line "I might not make it that long" :D
Hopefully Fred's announcement becomes true in 2019 http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1555156003.jpg Something like those would end up in: "Shut up and take my money"...lol. |

They fit PERFECTLY in my alu bumpers. And I upgraded to LED license plate lights...Soffitten from Philips with 4000k white...for my taste still a little too bright, but at least not like those funky 6000k bright white ones. I wish I could find 3000k LEDs. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1555615989.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1555624451.jpg |
slowly progessing, rerouting cables back and forth through the car.
I tracked down a cigarette lighter cable on eBay for an Audi A6...it is the same as they used in our Boxsters. So I finally can get my second cigarette lighter to work. New iOS Radio is working as intended...did all the preps for the door speakers (I am going to retrofit them with the cocoa door covers, as that was not an option when I ordered the car). I am creating a custom frame and send it to a specialist to get it covered in burl wood. So It will complete my conter console burl wood transformation. As you can see...I do have some cocoa leather pieces installed already...just the door covers missing (and cocoa seat inlays, if I can track them down). http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1555670497.jpg |
The Sleeper (gear indicator) has Awakend!
|
Gear indicator...check mark...off the list. Programming done, was a little tricky but worked in the end.
It recognizes the shifts easily within 1 sec...99.9% correct, after some adjustments and recalibrations. I am more than happy. It is useless nonsense, but hey, what isn't...lol. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1555865654.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1555926679.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1556710481.jpg DONE! |

I've tried it, nice idea, BUT after 1 day, I came to the conclusion: I am not going to install any China stuff in my Boxster, which is not CE certified. The converter gets waaaay too hot, again. You cannot touch it, that hot. Why can't they use 12V LEDs? |
top cleaned and down...summertime, here we come

Looking good! I'm jealous.

Everyone in german forums will hate it, but i like it, because it's different. ;)

Thank you guys.
What better playground could one have, eh? (uhm, okay there are a few better ones) As I am very picky with my modding ideas, this is something I could live with as aftermarket headlights. I tried to like the new style, but still too much bling (Fred, your webcrawler should be active now ---> key word "BLING", lol) for me. Less would be more for me and it would be a perfect homage to the fried egg look...IMO :D http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1556272297.jpghttp://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1556280524.jpg Modern LED headlights, fried eggs "mosaic" style blinkers :D Added 5th LED in the middle (DLR), deleted top row LEDs, created mosaic style blinkers (kinda like nano leaf) ...of course all photoshopped. |
That mosaic is damn cool!
|
I thought the same thing. He's really good at PShop.
|
I like the mosaic idea too. Looks like Art dèco.

dibs on that name :D

hahaha...my iPhone holder: IPHONE PLUS in landscape mode, with wireless charging (switched, so it doesn't drain the battery), free speaking mic and some LEDs.
IPHONE PLUS used as Center Control device for … Pionieer car radio, navigation, back up wifi-camera screen, rear parking sensor screen for pioneer, tire TMPS, hands free calling, ...and all the other cool apps. Benefits: Looks like a POS --> Theft protection and minimal weight with full functionality. Almost there...95% done, it fits and is working already. |

the Frankenstein...someone needs to get hi-res pics with lots of depth of those 911 GT3 RS2 fender air vents...and print it on a wrap. Or you can actually buy some carbon ones from a german tuner...and put them on your 911, or with a little Finesse fit them on your 986 Boxster, lol. :D http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1557519181.jpg |
plastic is so nineties...cure is coming….

Finest OEM Alcantara on the A-pillar covers , done by a professional saddler, just like the GT4.

Bling!!...Fred...web crawler alert!
Raised chrome headlight trim with 4 integrated LEDs to illuminate the clear DLR top ring part. And an attached corner for paint adaption. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1559222304.jpg A perfect DRL solution for the old fried eggs...a modern Retro interpretation...probably cheap to produce, easy to install and TÜV compliant...dips on the design...:D |
