I contacted "WrapArts" in Berlin, asked if they could plotter/cut my 3 stripe design in 3M Gloss Black Rose. The exact dimensions are: 2,5cm stripe - 3cm space - 34cm stripe - 3cm space - 2,5cm stripe All shops can do that. |

My e-bike project was super fun and it turned out to be a real contact magnet. Can't drive under the radar with it

Nice!

2 x 300Wh Flux capacitors are in place...powering a noiseless 250W PENDIX 65 Nm hub motor...shifting while pedaling under high load has never been easier with the noise- and stepless ENVIOLO NuVinci hub...MAGURA MT4 hydraulic disc brakes keep this bike monster under control.
http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1682718312.jpg Left battery slot --> provides power to hub motor. Right battery slot is for recharging with an intergrated charger. Battery status is visualized by different colors red (empty) orange - yellow . green (full). Additional is has white LED (just light) + blue LED (error code signals) Back to the future  It still counts as an insurance and TÜV free bicycle. That was the goal. |

sorry for another bike pic, but I found that gadget quite interesting:
That little black box is a radar, which scans the area behind for "anything" approaching you (200m distance) and will show that exactly in an app (visually and acustically). http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1683320107.jpg |
No need for an apology Bran, I am finding the whole bike build very interesting

Well done sir. The saddle bags are a nice touch
Those radars are awesome. They really help with safety. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk |
Almost done...turns out, I created a munster, uh monster bike
http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1684873598.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1684873762.jpg |
Pretty incredible. I already liked it when it was simple. Of course you'd go over-the-top, haha.
Good stuff. Where is you "build" located on the web? Enjoying the pictures here but... That "rear radar" device has me thinking, especially as a motorcycle rider. Link? |
 over the top, yup...that's me. The bike build is not on the web, exclusively here ;)
radar = Garmin Varia RV315 https://youtu.be/yF5-gUyjKaE It works incredibly well, I wonder why there isn't such a device for the automotive industry. I got another little device, which could be useful on tour: Cycplus mini epump http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1685554961.jpg And another gadget, Blaze laser light, holy schnikey...I will be lit up like a christmas tree  http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1685554915.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1685877114.jpg yep, it's the little extra flashlight in the middle (had to completely redo the mounting in that gas...uh face mask dispenser holder) |
Gumball or LeMans?
http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1686516412.jpg omg...a plotter is coming...and you know what that means...poor little Boxster. Let's see, if I will be able to plot those numbers (AI cannot find them as true type) |
Up north in Denmark. The beach right behind those dunes is an official road...how awesome is that?
http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1691190833.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1691860400.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1691190902.jpg |
Very awesome!
|
I like those red stripes on the front fenders going up to the doors.
Not shure about the number thing. |
My Plotter: Silhouette America Cameo 4
http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1692559562.jpg Had to learn from scratch, but you'll get the hang of it pretty fast. It is "small", the studio software is really good and it can plot up to 30cm wide sheets/endless rolls ---> was an absolute MUST for me! First results WIP: http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1692560391.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1693152062.jpg Now the photoshopped "number thing" is for REAL. Created my own vector numbers from scratch and italicized them...came out better than I hoped for. |
Some tail mods, I would like to create.
That blue glowing license number is just an homage to the officially featured Cyberpunk 2077 911 on the Porsche website. Not sure, if I will run into trouble with anything "glowing". But that is real, not photoshopped. Those 2 red led stripes next to the license plate should replace the rear FOG LIGHTS (obviously photoshopped). Just need to source some certified fog lights like that. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1693003023.jpg |
Looks great Bran

Bran now owns a plotter.
Sticker bomb alarm! :D ;) |
Yup...there are even more on the car now ;)
After 3 years of internet research a pair finally showed up in Germany. OEM 996/986 wood trims in general are becoming really rare these days. Speaker covers in dark burl wood, never installed and flawless. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1697656321.jpg Now I just need to find a left side dash air vent with gray leather grills... Oh, and I got myself Porsche Cocoa leather, to tackle my lower dash. Getting the perfect glue is key. |
It just keeps getting better! My favorite Boxster except maybe for a couple of mine.
|
Photoshop + plotter + bubbles in your head = creativity valve :D
http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1701549596.jpg This is my photoshoped concept. Can I realise it? ...a rethorical question :D Next: Hood design... BTW: Would it be possible to have an active suspension kit, where I could (besides the dampening) lower OR increase ground clearance on the fly/electronically? Kind of like a lift system... I found these guys https://tractivesuspension.com/automotive/ but not sure of the ride height can be adjusted "electronically". Not really looking for an air suspension kit. |
okay...going to town with my decals...
http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1701625730.jpg oh look what I found...a Boxster Dakar accessory...let's see....yup, fits http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1701625959.jpg now I only need some Pirelli Scorpions and I am ready to rallye  |
My plotter is fun, no doubt. But I guess the next toy will be a 3D printer, which can tackle bigger items :D
http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1703200832.jpg Need to finalise the Boxman, ah Cayster. Not a big fan of rear wings especially on a Boxster, but that rear hatch needs a ducktail with integrated grills for sure. And better fitting.... |
That spoiler design looks great with the top. We need to see it with all the decals. That yellow 9/86 is awesome. I may have to steal the design later.

The one on this would look good too.

I am not a big fan of Boxster wide body kits, and the following is a little too wide for my taste, but the concept is just wow. We have seen a few tries here and there and they all failed, but this guy (almost) nailed it.

Photoshop is essential for testing concepts and finalizing designs.
Photoshop concept of front hood: http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1703892527.jpg different "WIP" stages of cutting up my existing stripe design... http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1703892790.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1703892896.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1703892955.jpg ...as always, no surprises  |
Love it! :D:cheers:
|
THX
Front hood completed, for now. Cutting on paint is not for the faint of heart. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1704047306.jpg Happy New Year! |
Lookin’ Good! Happy New Year
|
A Boxster Safari ...I guess it is just a roller, but man, If I could jack a suspension up like that just for winter time or beach times, that would be a dream.
