Don't worry about any drag/loss of the 6 speed. The gear ratios are all wrong. The ratios are for the 996 (same tranny) NOT the Boxster 'S'. That's what you should be worried about.

The Boxster 'S' should have gotten the 5 speed gearbox of the 2.7..."

Do you have any idea who CFG is? Ever heard of him? He knows more about Porsches than anyone on this board.
