P O R S C H E added, using string

P O R S C H E added,
ensure you order the self adhesive ones! Initially I ended up with a set that had posts sticking out the back (which would mean drilling 2 holes per letter!)

First I cleaned the area with isoproponal alcohol

Pull some string across the boot lid. I used the pointy corners of the rear lights as a height guide.
Used masking tape to hold in position.

Measure and mark on the string the centre.

Take the S and position the top edge under the string, centred.

Then mark on the string 40mm either side of the left/right side of the S.

Place next letters.

Basically the gap between letters I used was 40mm.

It looks cleaner if you remove the 'Boxster' badge - but I am lazy and don't mind the look with it left on.

Was a very easy job, and took less than 10 minutes.

It looks nice, but not quite right. Why did you arch it upward like a rainbow? Look at the boxster logo. You curved it opposite and it looks really odd.

Shoot, I was in a hurry. Sorry if I sounded like I was being mean. I shoot straight from the hip!
Sure, it looks right in person, lol! You are looking at it from above. Try getting behind the car and down a little like you're driving behind your own car. It will look like it is frowning at you. Ask me how I know! :-)

I think you should put more work into this, especially if you're planning to keep both on there. They're opposite!

Granted, I can't see the ground level rear elevation, but I like the opposing curves. It's an elegant dance between the two lines of script that pulls the eye centrally.

Clever idea, but I agree. The opposing curve is really straining towards the eye.

yeh looks straight from the rear, eyeish level (say the car behind) -

but, I'm not going to get anal over this, because, let's face it, 99% of
average joe looking at the back of my car won't notice or care how it looks,

and the Boxster pro's are scattered far and wide!

So it only matters to me at the end of the day, and I like it.

next job is to get the wheels refurb'ed

The Porsche letters look great. But I would swap out Boxster S with 986 S.
986 in a gun metal grey and the S in Guards red.

That's what I replaced my Boxster S badge with after someone broke it in half drying the car.
I once overheard two guys upon seeing my 986 badge get into an argument over whether a 986 was a 968 or a 911 roadster.
I had to laugh to myself because if you consider the engine as one part, 70% of the part numbers are from the 99-01 Carrera and the Boxster in theory replaced the 968.

Wouldn't touch a thing you did a great job. No way would I have it arch upwards on the ends, you did it right. I did this to my car too a long time back but removed the Boxster S...after seeing yours I kind of like it more having both on...maybe because my 981 has both and I've grown to like it.
