What do you think of this front bumper?

http://precisionporsche.com/imager.p...&max_width=800

Aside from the top vents, I think it looks amazing

Johnny Danger 07-23-2013 04:36 PM

Bold ! Need more photos in order to give an opinion though. More importantly who makes it, and what is the quality like ?

I really am not a fan of the top vents... but you have to admit, it looks amazing in black!

It's made from precision porsche, and it's a retrofit of the TechArt 997 GT2 front bumper

It seems a bit "heavy" and contrived if you ask me. Especially for a 986 boxster. But, it all comes down to what you like I guess. What about something clean and straightforward like the RUF bumper ?

I also like the clean look of this German made 997 style bumper.

Crono0001 07-24-2013 01:58 AM

You know a funny story that you mention the RUF front bumper.

I actually ordered the RUF front bumper. It was at the shop and I was about to get it fitted, but had a slight change of heart. The shop owner, who had an old style 911, offered to buy it for full price from me.

I like this because it stands out, and turns more heads.

Wing2Nut does have a nice car though.

EssexPorsche 07-24-2013 02:29 AM

ooohhhhh - i love the orange one! just the whole look is wicked! so clean and smooth

Nice chin.

I think @cope is running with a prior design?

Looks like a bad Face Lift so many Hollywood stars have gotten, doesn't look natural...
To each their own brother!

Crono0001 07-24-2013 01:37 PM

But it looks so mean and aggressive! With OEM 997 lights no less!

I don't know why every aftermarket front bumper has those stupid top vents.

particlewave 07-24-2013 02:58 PM

Way too big and wide!
It looks like a feeding whale :p

Crono0001 07-24-2013 03:17 PM

Guess I'm alone in liking this front bumper.

About to pull the trigger... gotta love impulse buys.

If I were you, I would take my time and make a thorough decision and not buy on impulse.

Crono0001 07-24-2013 06:45 PM

You could say I'm living on the closer side of "danger" :P

Jokes aside, I've actually been considering this one for a long time. The only reason I didn't get RUF was because it wasn't... loud... enough. This one is perfect

heliguy 07-24-2013 09:24 PM

It looks too busy.

Crono0001 07-25-2013 03:19 AM

What if the top vents were taken off :D

heliguy 07-25-2013 05:31 AM

Still too busy. The round lights under the LED lights...the three vents at the bottom. Photoshop those off.

EssexPorsche 07-25-2013 06:08 AM

I still go back to that orange 997 style Ingo Noak German job - if i had my time again, thats where i'd put it!

Johnny Danger 07-25-2013 08:10 AM

Sorry Crono, but I just don't like it. There are so many other "kits" out there that can give the boxster that extra bit of "jazz" without "gilding the lily" .

coolbreeze551 07-25-2013 09:06 AM

I'm with you crono. I like it, I plan on buy a similar one from precision in the future, you've probably seen it on there site. I think it's the only other one for the 986 that has DRL's built into the bumper other than yours. I do like yours though :)

Crono0001 07-25-2013 11:12 AM

Haha. Maybe that's the effect I'm going for.
I've seen every kit out there (at least, I think I have) and nothing turns my head quite the same

EssexPorsche 07-26-2013 01:31 AM

JD,
My German is non-existent so do you happen to know:

How much the Ingle Noak front cover is for a 986.2 (S)?
What it's made from?
What their shipping costs are (in Europe/UK)?

I think i am a little far down the road to consider a replacement but... i like to have a little dream on the back burner at all times

Last I knew, the front was going for US$1400 - $1600. As far as the material is concerned, it's FRP that meets TUV certification.

My bumper also has the integrated LED
Its the turbo look
It's not as aggressive but I really didnt want the extra fog lights on top of the LED...too crowded IMO

Crono0001 08-06-2013 12:29 AM

That Z-Top is amazing looking. Very jealous :)
I also love that integrated LED.

So, I have something to confess.
*cough*

Both sellers you can make a price proposal.

cbbepop 08-16-2013 11:59 AM

Looking good Crono!
any fitment issues? My bumper has a gap in between the side marker lights...thank god its black so it doesn't show up very obviously

Crono0001 08-16-2013 12:17 PM

Lots of fitment issues, but that's the way it goes with any aftermarket bumper.
I paid premium to have them fit it in. More pics to follow.

madmods 08-17-2013 07:44 AM

Simply stunning. Well done mate

I'd trade my GT2 front bumper for this one anytime

wow more LEDs to shake a stick at.
I like it...its sharp!

The orange side marker kinda throws it off do you think so?

Crono0001 08-19-2013 12:28 PM

To be honest, I like a little bit of amber. I thought about getting the clear ones but the amber gives it a little bit of older flare. I thought about smoking it out too, but couldn't come to a conclusion.

madmods 08-19-2013 01:30 PM

You should run a contest a-la-Johnny Danger and quiz "how many little lights on my front end".

That would certainly set someone in busy-mode ;)

I think what really ties it all in - is the Johnny Danger Action CD ! :)

Crono0001 08-19-2013 05:17 PM

Has its spot permanently in the CD slot.

Mikelove 09-02-2013 07:59 AM

took me a while to suss it but it just worked for me

Cheers Yorkshire lad

GPReyes 09-17-2013 06:41 PM
