Any "clean" modded Boxsters?

I know this might make me a few enemies. But is there anyone (or anyone who has pictures) of a nice clean subtle modded boxster?

That means no chrome wheels, no 20" wheels, no gawdy body kits, no ridiculous eBay wings, no crazy amounts of vinyl, no full length racing stripes.

Seems half the "modded" porsches (911's, caymans, and boxsters alike) just make me want to :barf:

Surely I can't be the only one who thinks the same?

Post up some nicely modded cars!

I agree with you for the most part. But I do like some racing stripes :-) I am glad the 986 I bought was not modded at all. One of the biggest turnoffs when looking to buy a car is to see that the original wheels are gone. If you mod, keep the original parts!

3point2 03-11-2013 02:47 PM

Nicely executed Cosmo!

I too am a fan of the simple yet stunning mods to a car.

Cosmo: Mind posting your mod list, specifically the suspension and the wheels/tires? Do you have any body mods besides the rear tail lights and sidemarkers? Thanks!

Doc, I thought you used Leatherseats.com two tone with a crest logo. Did you change the seats a second time? Looks nice.

Doesn't get any cleaner that this. 2011 Boxster Spyder. Only mod so far are clear side markers. Don't know if I can bring myself to do anything else.

I did. That pic was taken before the new seats were installed. Here are the new ones installed.

It's a "turbo look" bumper that numerous aftermarket companies offer in both polyurethane and FRP.

Where did you get the seat covers?

I got them from Leatherseats.com.

I'm not very happy with leatherseats.com...kinda found it was more "lip service" than "customer service". They didn't fit as good as expected and I had to have them altered by a professional upholstery shop. Leatherseats.com basically said they couldn't help unless I shipped everything back to them for alterations. I was planning on having them professionally installed anyways, however didn't expect to have the challenges I had. Hindsight, I would have figured out a way for Leatherseats.com to do the whole install, not just provide the covers.

At the end of the day, I think it looks ok...we'll see how they hold up. :-)

heliguy 11-25-2013 02:58 PM

Clear corners, "H&R" sticker on the side...don't sell yourself short. How about some spacers to set the wheels out a bit. Sexy ride though.

jimk04 11-26-2013 05:58 AM

Yes spacers are on my list!

More still to do!!

I've been working on my box for a few months now but with work, Xmas and of course the money needed, it's taken a while. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1393086087.jpg
The "Lights" in the rear bumper are actually reflectors, the camera flash caught them well.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1393086223.jpg
As you can see i haven't finished the emergency frunk opening hack yet.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1393086365.jpg
New Drilled and grooved discs fitted all round, with new pads, of course.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1393086510.jpg
The discs look small now behind the 18's but hay ho! http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1393086624.jpg
New overmats, a xmas pressy from my Mrs.

Still have to fit the now painted side skirts, Aluminium drilled pedals some decals i've got in mind and a good detailing and then stroll on summer. Oh not forgetting the all important oil change and service of course.
