Little Red has a new big brother!
Well I pulled the truck out of the garage to make room for a second Boxster. My 2000 'S' now has a friend and he is very handsome. Here is my new 2007 (with 7k miles on it) Meteor Gray Base:

I figured I would have to Zaino PC it for about 5 hours then polish, and put a final coat of Z2 on it. It turns out there were little to none swirl marks/cobwebs. I only polished it for 4 hours (I use a quality random orbital) and put some Z6 on it so far. It was very dirty when I picked it up from sitting at dealership so i didn't know for sure what I got. The only two tough areas to clean were very dirty hand marks on the leather (I'm guessing he got in it after golfing each weekend) and those weird tough spots that form inside rims. I am so pleased, this one is good enough to concours. |

Thanks for the compliment! No basements in Texas. I'm originally from Wisconsin and really miss having basement storage. Now I have to get as much as I can on shelves against the side walls plus two vehicles. It all fits though.

wow. congrats. i just missed the unveiling. i know you are stoked! i knew you were looking for a "track" boxster, but i doubt it will be either of these two. haha.
|
Very nice! That pic of inside the garage almost makes the meteor gray look seal gray.

Finally got a coat of Zaino Z2 on my new toy. I had polished it when I got it a couple weeks ago but hadn't had time to finish the job with some Z2 and then a coating of Z6 to top it off. I still don't like this camera it really doesn't do well with cars but you get the idea :). Hopefully the upload doesn't get resized too small...well darn it was resized...they make it so tiny. Maybe 16 bit color would help.
I took my first 250 mile trip on Thursday through the mountains. I had a friend with me and he is over 200lbs and I didn't feel any drop in power out of the little 2.7. I drove it hard up 226a to the Blue Ridge. I am really pleased with the power, a 3.2 wouldn't have made the trip up any faster. If you have never driven 226a in NC you need to give it a try, wow what a rush. I have done it both in a 991 and a 987 now and it is a blast. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01/226a1345909335.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1345909371.jpg |
