Thumbs up Rothsport Dyno experience

I went to Rothsport today to pick up my 2001 Boxster (before and after pics to follow in another thread) and was treated to a dyno run experience from Rothsport owner Jeff Gamroth.

Wow! Jeff said this engine (not a Boxster) was rebuilt with special in-house fabrication for some of the parts and puts out 290hp with unbelievable torque. The engine is owned by a national autocross champion (sorry can't remember name) who lives in Washingtion state and who is having Jeff and crew rework his engine so he can win a national title again. Jeff said autocross engines need all the torque they can muster.

I snapped these pictures just before the dyno run as the engine was idling. When the computers took over and ran this monster up to 7000 rpm it was everything I could do to keep myself from running and taking cover! Jeff kept the doors open to the dyno room and we were standing a mere 10 feet from the engine. Awesome sounding engine and extremely loud!
