Went Autocrossing

It only took 3 weeks for ZSAK to convince me to go to the track. Here are some pictures from the event.

If you want to see all the pictures follow this link:

We also took a video of the event. Once my friend finishes editing I'll post that as well.

Cool. Yeah Autocross is a lot of fun. I have done it several times mainly cause you are racing against times versus side by side with other drivers and the possibility of bruises to my Boxsters body
However there is nothing like hitting an open track and doing times that way versus in the cones.
Has anyone around here ever been to Summit Raceway in Virginia?

I try to make it there a few times or more a year to open my Boxster up on some of these straightaways and testing the Boxsters handling to the limits in the corners if you want to see a picture of what the track looks like goto the link I provided above. PCA tried to make it to this track several times a year.

I am going to try to make it to Sebring sometime. I have always wanted to try that track.

I have heard great things about Sebring. In fact I know a few PCA members that haul their Boxsters and 996's there in the fall. Sebring is probably very comparable to Summit I suppose.
Yeah if you get a chance you should try to make it there. The Boxster is really fun in track conditions.

I agree, the track is fun -- the only bummer is the track tends to be a tire eater!!!

Thumbs down Warning: no insurance coverage for track events!

Please be advised that there is no insurance coverage available for either autocross or driver's ed events (in most states, check your insurance policy). Most policies contain an exclusion for "racing, preparation for racing, speed events, competiton events and the like." I enjoy these events as much as anyone, but I can't afford track insurance and I can't afford to pay any damages out of pocket. I have personally seen at least six cars totaled at driver's ed events (these were both the novice and more experienced run groups). Take care and have fun.
