Did you use a soldering iron or do it with just pliers, etc.?

I used a soldering iron and pliers. Once i got everything ready, it was very easy....didnt even have to line the hole with foil....

Kyle, looks so nice and clean. How far in do you have to reach before you encounter the amber plastic? Just what holds the amber in place anyway?

Did you hold the amber lense with pliers and then melt it away so no pieces dropped? Did you let the pieces drop after melting them off?

The amber is right at the bulb hole. You don't have to reach in very far. I started poking a few holes in it and it came loose. Then I cut it up with the iron and pulled the pieces out. I had 1 or 2 small melted chunks fall down but I was able to remove them by shaking them out. I also vacumed the hole just to be sure. Really not a difficult job.

i think there might be some confusion about this process. the original assembly on vehicles < 2003 can't have the "amber" removed as it's actually the plastic that is yellow:
you must start with the lights from a 2003, or the litronics, which is clear in the turn signal with the amber glued to the reflector:
if i am misunderstanding, PLEASE let me know.
