rs 60 anniversary 986 project

I got into a small accident where i hydroplaned, spun out and crashed head on into a sidewalk... which didnt do much damage except to the under part of my front bumper... and always seeing the glass half full ... I'm takin it as an opportunity to do what I've been wanting to do to the car but never really felt the compelling need til the "accident"

having been enamored by the rs 60 987 anniv edition

i've decided to try to replicate the bumpers for my boxster s...

should be done in 2 weeks...but here are some teaser pictures....

diffusers will be tamed down of course...and was able to find some daytime running lights big enough to fit the bumper hole cutouts and look similar to the stock 987 fogs...

wish me luck!

I know a few Filipinos... many are very very passionate about cars. They're highly skilled whether they're mechanic or doing bodywork. Love to see how this turn out.

I like it. I'm no aerodynamicist, but it sure looks functional to me.

Could you post more photos of the RS60 so that we can compare with your finished project pics when it gets done?

Regards, Maurice.

986 rs 60 anniv PROJECT COMPLETED

MERRY XMAS EVERYONE!

and as a treat here''s my 986 rs60 project completed...

sorry pix arent so good as they were shot in my parking slot...

but overall

quite happy...

just a bit of a gap in the spoiler area due to the fact that maybe the guy who made my bumpers measured them with the spoiler removed...

but i guess i'm kinda willing to overlook it....

found some led's to fit the bumper gaps too up front..... will try to get better pix outdoors during the holidays...

BEFORE

AFTER

also did a magnum kit for my cayenne

Boxster looks great! Love those bumpers. But the Cayenne looks like it's wearing the Scream mask.

got bored with my boxster.... so i decided to foil it matte white.... painted rims matte black... foil can be removed when I wanna return it to silver... but for now I'm pretty happy with it...

got inspired by the spyder.... =)

boxster s badge to be put back thurs after the foil sets...

also reconsidering whether boxster vent should be painted white or keep it in black?

what do you guys think?

sorry for quality of photos...used my bb torch

here's the rest of the fam

gosh, the white and resemblance to the spyder is amazing. My opinion the new look 10000x's better than the old one. Keep the vents black please, even better, cover it with a carbon fiber film! Day time running LED's perfectly placed. Boy oh boy I'm drooling with envy.

I'm not sure about a matte white (can't imagine how hard it would be to take care of it!) but none the less, great looking car.

Is that original front bumper of the rs 60?

I think it looks real good. I like the flat white a lot. I've wanted to foil/vinyl mine for a while but haven't for lack of $. Looks like someone did a really nice job though
