I had been watching prices for a while (12 months). The prices seemed to be fairly stable & were more or less dictated by mileage of the vehicles & service history.
We only ever drove two vehicles, both were S models of 2001 vintage with 60,00-70,000km.
My vehicle has full service history & 5 owners. I was lucky enough the vehicle was due the 60K service & I paid for this prior to the purchase. This also gave me all the current & previous faults & any repairs that were required.
Porsche told me the clutch needed replacing, front & rear suspension arms noisy & front engine mount badly torn. Quote $5500 for all repairs.
I re negotiated the purchase price $2500 down. Final price $46,500.
None of the claimed faults have raised their heads. The local wheel aligner who races a 911 says the clutch is fine & there is nothing wrong with the suspension arms. The engine mount has a 10mm tear & I will leave that till it gets noisy.

I do not intend to track the car. It is a weekend driver only.
Here is what I ended up with.
