Well, the salesman told me the break in period is the first 3k miles, according to the owners manual it's the first 2k miles. I'm sticking with what the owners manual says because I figure it's wiser than the salesman.

I've opened her up a bit, but I usually try to hang below 4k RPM's until I'm past the break in.

The owners manual also says that the car will burn oil faster during the break in, which I've noticed to be true. I've put a couple of quarts in and am around 1.4k miles.

Thanks for the compliments and the advice! I'm really loving this car, it's a huge change from the Dodge Stratus I owned before.
