Bumper Thread

Is there a bumper thread that is similar to the wheel thread? I couldn't find one with a search. I'm considering this Twin Turbo look polyurethane bumper but I want to see if anyone else has one. I'm open to other styles so it would be cool to see a variety to compare. (If this actually turns into a bumper thread I'll modify this post to reflect it)

PLEASE POST YOUR PICS AND BUMPER INFO

Thumbs up Great Idea RobZ...

Thats a great thread.

I'm considering getting the Techart Style bumper and skirts from Precision Porsche in California. I have seen the bumpers in person and am very impressed by the fitment, quality and great looks. They also have the turbo bumper available. Check the website. PrecisionPorsche.com

RobZ and myself are searching for front bumpers, if there is anyone else who would like to order from Precision Porsche, we should get together and try to get a better deal. I'm in for the T/A Style front bumper and skirts.

No use in posting mine yet, we've all seen factory bumpers before. lol.

I think that bumper looks nice. My only concern is that there is a rubber/plastic radiator duct that is form fit to the factory bumper openings. I wonder if they fit cleanly behind the aftermarket bumper, or if you have to do modifications to make it work. Also, in the turbo bumper, there's a middle opening for a center radiator which the base models don't have, so I guess you'd need to put a fill there as well.

Boxtaboy, those are very real concerns. I know on the GT3 MK1 bumper it will fit the rubber radiator shrouds perfectly on the '07 - '04 Boxsters. The same would be true for the Boxster aerokit bumpers. Someone else was just selling a RUF front bumper for the Boxster and even though the bumper is quite different it came with rubber radiator shrouds to match it, which I believe is excellent engineering on RUF's behalf. Anything else I've seen the rubber shrouds do not match and it looks bad up close and maybe does not result in ideal cooling efficiency. There's a Gemballa front bumper that I LOVE, but which only fits the 911 Turbo style lights. I saw it recently on a friend's 911 and it looked bad up close precisely because there was no shroud or bottom cover, so it was just open underneath....

WOW!!! That is really something else! I love that front bumper - VERY nice. The rest of the setup: wheels, tail lights, wing, side skirts, and rear bumper all look excellent too. Overall a very nice combination! I bet you get a lot of attention and compliments!

Wingnut2u:

If I hadn't said it already, that's one of the better looking aftermarket bumpers out there (other one is RUF).

Do you have more pics to show us???

Nice car!, wish I could have seen it a couple of weeks ago when I swung in to pick up the parts from you. Boxtoberfest sounds like it was a good time.

Here is my aerokit1 similar to gt3 front bumper just not as deep.

Wingnut2u very nice ride- not to overdone, just right

here's the rear that I mod to look like the euro bumper (no bumperettes) and after market rear diffuser topped off with factory aerokit1 rear wing

That RUF bumper looks sweet, you paid a pretty penny for that. Did you actually ship your car to RUF in Dallas?
