Boxster egged sunday morning

Well My boxster was egged sunday morning and unfortunatly i didnt get out side to notice it until 2pm so the eggs had lots of time to burn into my paint job.

I dont have much to say other than Im losing my faith in humanity and also feel like Im one bad day away from my actions resulting in the term "Going Postal" being changed into "Going Porsch-a"

You know that crossed my mind but then i know she doesnt have it in her to do that sorta thing... When i was washing it off in the street, this lady walked by and told me her car was egged 1 month ago on that same street and suspects its some skater kids living next door to her so im not sure what ill do about that... I've thought of several things i can do to them.

1) Engulf there vehicles with eggs or feces.

2) Drop a deuce on there door step and smeer it on the concrete for making it difficult cleaning.

3) Doing donuts on there front lawn.

4) Nothing

That just sucks. I feel for you. Can you get any help from your insurance?

Unfortunately, there isn't a lot to be gained by retaliating as you probably have more to lose in the long run. Also, some kids revel in seeing you all pissed off. I wouldn't want to give them the satisfaction.

I had a friend that tried method "3) Doing donuts on there front lawn" after an incident and the police just drove over to his house, saw the grass in the wheelwells and gave him one heck of a ticket and he was forced to pay to have the lawn repaired.

Thats insane, I am sure it was the neighborhood kids.
There is not much you can do. The kids will get a slap on the wrist and then next time you will have a few flat tires.

My advice, buy a car cover.

Good luck my friend.

Any reason why you wouldn't want to go the insurance route?

Was the the damage pretty bad -after the egg was removed?

I did go the insurance route, The paint was damaged by the egg whites, theres like a stain in the clear coat that wont wash or wax off. On the upside ill get another paint job... so far this would be the 3rd one

1st PJ) Just to restore the 10 year old Original paint job

2nd PJ) Front half painted 3 months ago when headlights were stolen

This one might be the 3rd... Well atleast having a low deductible helps.

hey cj, sorry to hear that about your car. since you're moving on the 13, retaliation might be just. i used to work with this old guy, and some kids kept egging his cars and house for no reason. he even tried to talk to the parents who opted to slam the door on his face and told him to never come back to their house. so, the next time it happened he bought like 48 eggs after work one night, and re-paid the debt to the kid's dad's new car.

on a repair note, have you tried some sort of rubbing compound??? sometimes you can even go to one of those expensive body shops, and talk to one of the finishing guys who might be able to buff it out for you on the side (i had to do that to one of my other cars, dude did the whole car for like $200).

good luck though man!

We found out the hard way about the devastation to paint caused by $1.50 worth of eggs. My daughter borrowed our new Volvo V70 R wagon and it got egged in front of her house in sunny Durham NC. Unfortunately she was away for the weekend and didn't get to it until several days afterward. If eggs are thrown at high speed the shells fracture the clearcoat. After drying, the protein in the eggwhite binds to the clearcoat causing clearcoat wrinkling as as the egg cures in the heat. The only way to get egg off is by washing with vinegar before the stuff dries. Our local high-end detailer tried to buff the clearcoat, but stopped after it looked like he'd be down to basecoat before the damage was gone. The total cost to State Farm from the Volvo dealer body shop (car is leased) was $3900 for painting the entire driver's side, hood and roof with clear and base coats - we only paid the $100 deductible. Revenge would be sweet, but the aggravation entailed with getting caught just isn't worth it. On the other hand, is your enemy's enemy your friend....?

Sucks dude. Not too much you can do about it though. I'm sure it will turn out in your favor in the end.

Does stuff like this happen often in LA?

When I lived in Chicago people would cut my Jeep window for fifty cents laying on the dash... I hated leaving my car on the street... People would bump into it just because the were too lazy to park better etc...
Now I'm in the Boonies 75 miles from there... so lifes great now.

At least it looks like they got all painted body panels, so you get a full new paint job.

You are correct JWilson, Took it in and they said that the entire body needs a repaint and they also noticed some egg on the top... they said if they cant clean it, they will replace it so i told them to let me buy a glass top with the money and they said ok if they cant clean it, they will let me go buy the top.

It sucks havin this stuff happen but having you guys to talk about it with me makes it alot less anoying, especially Back2DTM, THanks Buddy!

Garage
Bummer man! I hate it when people trash stuff for no reason. It's so :chicken: . Sure it can always be fixed and insurance will usually cover vandalism like this. It's just such a grind getting it all taken care of and like new again. Also prepare to get hosed on your insurance premium. With two vandalism claims in one year your insurance is probably going to be $5K every six months. Time to find a place with a garage.

On the bright side, at least they didn't damage your shiny new headlights.

Wow, that totally sucks. If you think there is a risk it could happen again you could always rig up a spy cam. It sucks that people can be so assinine. Someone keyed my brother's Lexus right after he bought it at the movie theater. They even started over because I guess they didn't think the first try was deep enough, so they keyed it twice all the way down the whole side.

I have no faith in mankind. People are mean just for the sake of being mean. If people would actually be punished when they do that sort of stuff maybe they would think twice. But our judical system is a total joke, but that's a rant for another occasion. I'm sorry about your troubles. I was paranoid from the git go with my car cause people can be so evil. Good luck.

CJ,
Move out of Dodge! Sorry for the destruction that the mutants did on your car. Those are not kids , they are psychos. People that enjoy wrecking other peoples properties are not needed in this world they should be used for genetic expirementations & as test crash dummies hitting a railroad locomotive at 90 mph head on. I did also have my tires punctured one day but they did catch the little rascal. Police made him pay restitution.
