That just sucks. I feel for you. Can you get any help from your insurance?

Unfortunately, there isn't a lot to be gained by retaliating as you probably have more to lose in the long run. Also, some kids revel in seeing you all pissed off. I wouldn't want to give them the satisfaction.

I had a friend that tried method "3) Doing donuts on there front lawn" after an incident and the police just drove over to his house, saw the grass in the wheelwells and gave him one heck of a ticket and he was forced to pay to have the lawn repaired.

Thats insane, I am sure it was the neighborhood kids.
There is not much you can do. The kids will get a slap on the wrist and then next time you will have a few flat tires.

My advice, buy a car cover.

Good luck my friend.

Growing up the car magazines said how amazing Porsches are. Was I brainwashed? Somehow...I doubt it.

Any reason why you wouldn't want to go the insurance route?

Was the the damage pretty bad -after the egg was removed?

I did go the insurance route, The paint was damaged by the egg whites, theres like a stain in the clear coat that wont wash or wax off. On the upside ill get another paint job... so far this would be the 3rd one

1st PJ) Just to restore the 10 year old Original paint job

2nd PJ) Front half painted 3 months ago when headlights were stolen

This one might be the 3rd... Well atleast having a low deductible helps.

hey cj, sorry to hear that about your car. since you're moving on the 13, retaliation might be just. i used to work with this old guy, and some kids kept egging his cars and house for no reason. he even tried to talk to the parents who opted to slam the door on his face and told him to never come back to their house. so, the next time it happened he bought like 48 eggs after work one night, and re-paid the debt to the kid's dad's new car.

on a repair note, have you tried some sort of rubbing compound??? sometimes you can even go to one of those expensive body shops, and talk to one of the finishing guys who might be able to buff it out for you on the side (i had to do that to one of my other cars, dude did the whole car for like $200).

good luck though man!

We found out the hard way about the devastation to paint caused by $1.50 worth of eggs. My daughter borrowed our new Volvo V70 R wagon and it got egged in front of her house in sunny Durham NC. Unfortunately she was away for the weekend and didn't get to it until several days afterward. If eggs are thrown at high speed the shells fracture the clearcoat. After drying, the protein in the eggwhite binds to the clearcoat causing clearcoat wrinkling as as the egg cures in the heat. The only way to get egg off is by washing with vinegar before the stuff dries. Our local high-end detailer tried to buff the clearcoat, but stopped after it looked like he'd be down to basecoat before the damage was gone. The total cost to State Farm from the Volvo dealer body shop (car is leased) was $3900 for painting the entire driver's side, hood and roof with clear and base coats - we only paid the $100 deductible. Revenge would be sweet, but the aggravation entailed with getting caught just isn't worth it. On the other hand, is your enemy's enemy your friend....?
