My new (to me) dream car

This is the newest member of my family. I (like most of you, I'm sure) still have a hard time believing that I own a Porsche. I can't put into words the feelings driving this car provides.

I work at a pretty nice car dealership, and I'm exposed to fine automobiles daily, like M3's, TT's, Z4's, etc., and the Boxster is by far the most fun I've had behind the wheel (except maybe for a 911. They are hard to beat )

I have found this forum full of invaluable advice, and I hope we can continue to stay in touch this way!

scott

nice boxster, good choice is colour also. Blue can polish up really well.

well done scott, congratulations on a great machine! make sure you flash and wave at other boxster drivers..

Clear headlights and colour center crests would look stunning!

Thanks, I've been eyeing clear headlights and taillights since I first got it. They really do clean up the look a lot!

They are Yokohama AVS ES100's. They are pretty good. Not the best, but the car needed tires badly, and I didn't want to spend a fortune on great tires. They do look sharp, though!

Nice Boxster mante. I never get bored driving mine. The head turns and the thumps up I receive on almost a daily basis are a different story

Last night I took my 97 boxster out for a spin with the top down as it's unusually cool for August in Houston, Texas.

I had nowhere to go, but I went there fast anyway and was just so pleased to finally own my dream car, a Porsche convertible. I don't think non-Porsche owners really understand what the big deal is about, but we do, huh?

Oh yes we do. I am very excited to finally own mine! Especially after all the legal issues involved with me personally.

You cant beat the hood down in a boxster having a night time drive with those stars in the sky and the smell of FRESH AIR..

perfect..

All I get is smog here in the 4th largest city in the USA, but I'm going to take a road trip soon enough to the country where the air is clean!

scott,

No need to apologize for your tires.

All 3 of the family cars run AVS ES100 - I love this tire.

They are Very Quiet - which is the best on a hot august night on a country lane with no other cars. They have Great Turn-in and are Very Progressive when they begin to lose grip (great at Lime Rock-we'll see at The Glen). The overall Grip is excellent. They are superior in the Rain and they Look Good. The price is Reasonable.

There may be better tires for other drivers. At my level, these are my favorite.

I agree that I've been nothing but pleased with the AVS's so far. I am impressed with how much performance they give considering they are a bit cheaper than some other comparable tires. I will definitely stick with them for a long time.
